Liberal Bias at PBS

Media Research Center has more time than I do to research this. Just in the past week PBS aired a biased piece on Tom Delay, accusing him of supporting “virtual slavery.”

Howard Dean - Loco for Attention

Drudge is running a headline about Howard Dean’s most recent remarks in response to a question regarding the voting patterns of Asians:
The Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people…
They’re a pretty monolithic party…
They all behave the same and they all look the same…
It’s pretty much a white, Christian party…
When this guy opens […]

Africa: The Forgotten Continent

When the tsunami struck Asia last year my first thought was one of sadness for the victims and their families. My second thought was, “Poor Africa.” It was only inevitable that the continent most in need of the western world’s help would be shoved, again, to the back of the line.
U.S. government pledges […]

Totally Awesome Update

I would have added this to the previous post, but this is worthy of its own entry…
Eric Snider, humorist extraordinaire of Provo, UT, also had a run-in (albeit online) with the Totally Awesome Gun Toting “Superdell.” You just can’t make this stuff up!
A few months ago, I said the guy on the Totally Awesome […]

Totally Awesome Computers

If you have lived in Provo at some time during the past several years, you will appreciate this story:

Microsoft Loses to Guatemalan Programmer

Carlos Armando Amado, a Guatemalan programmer, successfully sued Microsoft over an intellectual property dispute. Apparently Amado had patented a software technology related to Excel and Access, which Microsoft then decided to use as their own. Oops!
The behemoth from Redmond owes Amado $8.9 million as a result.
And to avoid our own IP dispute, in […]

Amnesty International - Gitmo gulag? We don’t know.

Instapundit has a priceless post on the “Guantanamo Gulag” meme:
LIKE LINDA FOLEY, Amnesty International is now saying that it isn’t really worth paying attention to:
Despite highly publicized charges of U.S. mistreatment of prisoners at Guantanamo, the head of the Amnesty International USA said on Sunday the group doesn’t “know for sure” that the military is […]

Stop the Phishing

phishing (pronounced “fishing”):
In computing, phishing is the act of attempting to fraudulently acquire through deception sensitive personal information such as passwords and credit card details by masquerading in an official-looking email, IM, etc. as someone trustworthy with a real need for such information.
Bob Cringely explains a rather novel way to defeat this epidemic of phishing.
The […]

Let the fight begin

Senator Joe Biden has fired the first official shot in what will inevitably be a bloody fight for the proverbial “heart and soul” of the Democratic party.
On ABC’s This Week he had the following exchange with the host, George Stephanopoulos, regarding DNC Chairman Howard Dean (paraphrased by Trey Jackson, where you can get the video) […]

new report: quran desecration rampant among gitmo detainees; newsweek silent

[there were] 15 cases of detainees mishandling their own Qurans. “These included using a Quran as a pillow, ripping pages out of the Quran, attempting to flush a Quran down the toilet and urinating on the Quran,” Hood’s report said. It offered no possible explanation for the detainees’ motives.
In the most recent of those 15 […]
