1. conservatives want to kill murderers but not fetuses. liberals want to kill fetuses but not murderers. yes, its a generalization. and yes, it sounds sensationalistic, but think about it. i'm not that far off, am i?

2. some blacks want the US to make reparations for slavery. was the gift of a nation not enough for you?
related to that, did the liberians realize how inhumanely they were treated in the US? regardless, the oppressed didn't flinch when they were the ones in power and had to make those kinds of moral decisions:
Although Americo-Liberians had been denied their freedom in America, many did not think to extend their new liberty to the native Malinke. Liberians treated many Malinke like second-class citizens and denied them voting rights. Natives were [enslaved] until an admonishment from the League of Nations in 1931 halted the practice.
maybe the US government could pay reparations to blacks. then blacks could pass the cash straight on to the natives they enslaved. what's that? you didn't enslave anybody? exactly. neither did i.
3. the other day, CNN's aaron brown asked whether we are showing unnatural impatience as a nation when we call a month-old war a "quagmire" and a 100-day old peace a "failure." its not the nation saying this, but america-hatin' liberals. hey y'all, thanks for your undying support for the troops!

ouch. a stinging indictment of the left written as only a Coulter fan could. bravo.
i will use only lowercase for a week to honor such an achievement.
maybe i am a little off on (1): it might better read, "conservatives would rather kill murderers than fetuses" and "liberals would rather kill fetuses than murderers". THAT is certainly indisputable.

Said so simply, but holds so much truth. I luv it.
Posted by: PAG at August 6, 2003 09:16 AMsomewhat unrelated to the subject at hand, i’ve notice that the caption under the all-encompassingly.com header now reads “travis and doug’s revenge.” so i have a question. who or what are you avenging? the conservative viewpoint? or more precisely, your conservative viewpoints?
i’m all for it, but since your blog (as is demonstrated here in your newest addition to the blog--nice arguments, by the way--i’m with doug, no caps for a week) deals more with clear accusations coupled with well-reasoned, supporting arguments, and less with the infliction of forceful punishment and fanatic retaliations, i move for the replacement of the word “revenge” with the semantically more appropriate word “vindication.”
but that probably wouldn’t sound as vivacious. maybe you better stick with “revenge.” (wow, i don’t think the v key on my keyboard has ever worked this hard in so few sentences.)

kristie, thanks for bringing this linguistic nuance to my attention.
i chose "revenge" for two reasons. first, it has more buzzword potential than its four-syllable counterpart. second, we're male. we like to give the impression (as with revenge) that we're capable of violence, when provoked. kind of like two surly east-african rhinos. we go about our day peacefully until somebody says "reparations!" or "quagmire" or tries to steal our little rhino babies to make rhino-skin shoes with. then that person (probably howard dean) better watch out!
you'll be happy to know that "revenge" and "vindicate" appear side by side as synonyms of avenge [here]
Posted by: travis at August 7, 2003 03:15 AMok, ok, i’m inclined to agree.
surly east-african rhinos, huh. you’re right--howard dean better watch out!
Good thoughts all.
Posted by: Ben at August 7, 2003 06:13 PM1) A generalisaton if ever I read one. Most liberals I know want to have chldren, not kill them; most un-liberals I know would rather not kill anyone.
2) Congratulations, you help found a state, in a continent where the slaves originated from; those slaves came from all over Western Africa (which incidently is a big place), but never mind, those second/third/fourth generation slaves got their own little space now and would they kindly stop moaning becuase it's better to be thousands of miles away from your homeland than, er, thousands of miles away from your homelands.
[editor's note: can anybody tell what this troll is talking about, and/or if it is older than 12?]
3) er, and the rest of the world d***head, except that idiot Tony Blair. It's just not cricket.
I think I'll use regular punctuation for a week in honour of your great thinkings, master.
Posted by: troggle at August 8, 2003 04:52 PMWhatever.
Blair is Dubya's poodle and you know it.
go figure
Posted by: troggle at August 11, 2003 12:36 AMthanks for watching your language this time, troll. great argument, too: "i'm right because....'you know it.'"
irrefutable!
Posted by: travis at August 11, 2003 01:01 AMBlair is not Bush's "poodle"... In the area of millitary action we out match the brits by some margin... they follow our lead... Blair dosen't do what Bush tells him to do, just as Colin Powell dosen't... their views on national security are just about the same... but on things related to UN, EU, and domestic things Blair differs from Bush... why? He's a gaul dang libral... but he's a good one like Leiberman...
[OFF TOPIC: I'll throw in a teaser here for a blog my assistant is working on... its about Leiberman, not much of a "teaser" is it...LOL]
