“ask the men who served with john kerry 30 years ago”

heart-stopping. that’s what it was like when i heard the audio on the radio yesterday. it was such a powerful message that when it finished, i gave a manly cheer through gritted teeth, with accompanying fist pump, as i drove down the road in my delivery truck. i couldn’t find the video anywhere on the internet, but paulie had the scoop. human events online has the unbelievable video. [link]

go watch it; you won’t be disappointed.

UPDATE (via doug): You can download the Kerry/Swift Boat Veterans video here if the other server gives you trouble.

  1. SwiftVets for the Truth - swiftvets.com - is where the video originated. FYI

  2. Let’s hope that the Liberal Media doesn’t whitewash this for Kerry. A few weeks ago, the Newsweek editor (I think) said that the favorable media toward Kerry is worth 15 points in the polls. It’s just crazy.

The liberal media doesn’t need to whitewash it. It’s been discredited. I love when conservatives latch onto b******* when they’re desperate.

[edited for content. editor’s note: i’m not desperate. i’ve been predicting for weeks that kerry will not win more than 10 states. he just sucks that bad.]

    spot,

the very story you linked to (i am left to myself to make these assumptions, since you didn’t make an argument–you just used an expletive and provided a link) IS an instance of media whitewashing & exposes other liberal lies. for the following reasons:

    1) liberals say none of the vets against kerry ever served with him. well, elliot was kerry’s commanding officer. think they might have served together a little?

    2) the story to which elliot signed the affidavit was just one of the many in the book, and mentioned in the advertisement the veterans put out. if it is unconfirmed, that doesn’t mean everything in the ad/book is false.

    3) why didn’t the globe reporter speak with others who signed the same affidavit as elliot. he is merely saying (probably in the face of lawsuits from the trial lawyer ticket of kerry-edwards) that he doesn’t know “first-hand”. however,he is sticking by his fellow vets. of them he says,

I simply have no reason for these guys to be lying, and if they are lying in concert, it is one hell of a conspiracy. So, on the basis of all of the information that has come out, I have chosen to believe the other men.

    but, he adds,

I absolutely do not know first hand. [click to read the article]

4)the author of the globe article, michael kranish, also wrote kerry’s biography and wrote the official kerry campaign book, entitled “kerry edwards”. do you think he might be a little biased? but nobody’s asking who’s funding him. they just don’t like that the swift boat veterans for truth may have a republican donor.

    5) the fact that kranish authored the piece is even more troubling when elliot, the veteran who is the focus of the globe piece, claims his view is grossly misrepresented in the article. whoops.

Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in today’s edition of the Boston Globe by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and highly misstating his actual views. He reaffirms his statement in the current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, Captain Elliott reaffirms his affidavit in support of that advertisement, and he reaffirms his request that the ad be played.

The article by Mr. Kranish is particularly surprising given page 102 of Mr. Kranish’s own book quoting John Kerry as acknowledging that he killed a single, wounded, fleeing Viet Cong soldier whom he was afraid would turn around.

This last weekend, the opportunity arose for me to talk with my uncles, both of whom are vets. One served 35 years ago the same year that Kerry was over in Vietnam, the other in the Gulf War. My uncle was there for his whole tour in Vietnam, injured in battle without ever receiving a purple heart for the “scratch” he got on his arm which required 11 stitches. He went straight back to the fighting. He felt that purple hearts were for the guys like his budy who had a 2 inch piece of shrapnal sticking out of the top of his head. He was awarded the bronze star for saving his platoon when they were pinned down in a valley with the VC on the hill above. He never even knew he was received a metal until the day before. He knew and served along side one of the soldiers who followed Kerry’s lead, testifying to congress. It wasn’t until years later that he would even read what was said by his friend, Kerry, and others. He was amazed at the outright lies that were told. Even by his friend. He served with this guy. They would stand next to each other on those road patrols. He couldn’t understand why so many would lie about what they did.

  6. The controversy surrounding the best-seller, “Unfit for Command” made me want to rush out and buy a copy. I read over half of it since yesterday. It’s fascinating and apparently well-researched, and presents overwhelming evidence that Sen. Kerry is a pathological liar who cannot be trusted with a boat crew of six, let alone the reins of government. No wonder the Kerry campaign has been trying to suppress publication of this book!
