aspen
doug and i live on aspen avenue. this street name has special significance to us because it represents [the attainable] utopia in the movie “dumb and dumber.” of course, the characters are a little confused about its location–lloyd thinks aspen is in california, harry thinks aspen is in france–but here’s one quotation:
“some place warm. a place where the beer flows like wine. where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of capistrano. i’m talking about a little place called aspen.”
so…..
in the case that you and i ever share a conversation, and my address somehow comes up, don’t be surprised if i say “aspen” the way lloyd says it in the movie (kind of longingly, with a very sustained “s”): “ahsssspen avenue”
just laugh, and think about your own confused utopian dream. you have one, too, don’t you?

yes, i do have a utopian dream… Caliifornia (pronounced like the kid in the Nitendo-movie-phenomenom “The Wizard”)… Caliifornia…
surf, sand, sun, skiing and disneyland all possible on the very same day, plus the most beautiful woman in the world calls the coast home…
Caliifornia…
