this week is a busy one for all-encompassingly. i have two mid term exams and doug’s being a hero. we’ll put up some real content of our own as soon as it all blows over.

My vote for a new bumper sticker is plain and simple…DAMN the FCC
In a ruling on Monday the Federal Communication Commission voted 3-2 on legislation that will now allow the national TV ownership limit to increase. News Corp which owns Fox News and Viacom which owns CBS and UPN can now expand their “services” to more radio stations and newspapers and televison channels. Basically, big broadcasting companies will now have the ability to reach 45% of all households (previously the limit was 35%) and better publicize their narrow opinions and beliefs. Maybe they’ll form a new company called “Big Brother” and start watching US through the TV. Michael K. Powell (R), chairperson of the commission stated “the ruling allows us to achieve our public interest objectives of diversity, competition and localism for our nation’s citizens.” This is ironic when one considers that the FCC was created in 1941 to promote competition and prevent monopoly…I guess I’ll have to get over my hate of guns and be a critic with the white trash of NRA…
good luck on those exams……I am so proud of your priorities!!! (Ben says he’d much rather be blogging than studying!) Ahhh well……Do you think I’m assuming too much about your priorities? your auntie
suz, you are right to second-guess my focus. the NHL playoffs are one reason for my decrease in productivity around this time of year. you caught me. doug’s lack of productivity may be more complicated: he has taken up golf, and dreams of one day playing on the LPGA tour. he also claims to be taking “classes.”
