Part-time messiah, full-time lightworker

From the San Francisco Chronicle (where else?): Is Obama an enlightened being?
Barack Obama isn’t really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway.

Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us [...]

SCOTUS: A reason to vote for McCain?

Perhaps.
If elected, there is at least the hope he would appoint someone like O’Connor or Kennedy…an “occasional conservative”. Whereas with Obama, you know you’re getting another Stevens or Ginsburg.
Such is the depressing state of this election.

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin has a mind like a steel trap

Monday on CNN, Wolf Blitzer, Jack Cafferty, Jeffrey Toobin, and Gloria Borger discussed Charlie Black’s statement in Fortune magazine, where he suggested that a terrorist attack on America would turn voters to his guy, McCain. The CNN people piled on about how bad the comment was (the group collectively expressed shock, Cafferty called it “breathtakingly [...]

Obama: “They’ll say I’m black.”

Behold, The Post-Racial Chosen One:
“They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. He’s young and inexperienced and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?“
And thus Obama has cleverly prevented the Republicans from spreading smears in their braille literature.

From Florida yesterday…
Obama, an Illinois senator, canceled a visit to eastern Iowa last week at the request of state officials and instead went to fill sandbags in Quincy, Ill. McCain, an Arizona senator, toured flood damage in Iowa Thursday.
“I know that Sen. McCain felt as strongly as I did,” Obama said, “feeling [...]

McCain on Climate Change Tour

This nugget from the Examiner via Drudge:
John McCain is going to be doing more of these themed tours of America, and one of them is going to be on energy and global climate change.
Wonderful. Perhaps McCain is planning to hire Al Gore as a campaign consultant. Personally, I’d prefer Coach Edmo.

Dream Ticket!

I hereby nominate Jeremiah Wright and Mike Huckabee for the presidential dream ticket of the Know Nothing party. They can run the country as co-vice-presidents. Wright recently said he was open to serving in that office; Huckabee has been posturing for the spot since January.
Here’s Huckabee last month, defending Wright’s comments as “out of [...]

Thoughts on last night’s debate, from the mouth of He who has come to save America:
“They like stirring up controversy and they like playing gotcha games, getting us to attack each other,” he said. “Senator Clinton looked in her element. She was taking [...]
