Gmail Spam Increase

Am I the only one getting a ton more spam in my Gmail account?
It’s been going on for the past couple weeks. The spam filter used to miss something once every couple weeks (if that often). Now I get about 10 or more spams each day.

USpolitical.com (a new blog)

One of my favorite all-encompassingly readers (and commenter!), Ryan, has started a new blog about US political issues.
From a recent article about terrorist attacks, Ryan writes:
I find it extremely naive to presume that military actions in “The Iraqi slaughterhouse, besieged Gaza, wasted Lebanon” somehow account for them. Americans are not slaughtering Iraqis, rather, Iraqis are [...]

Google: Caught in a Queer Quagmire

Google is in a fabulous fix with their Language Tools.
PinkNews reports that Google has agreed to change the Arabic translation of the word “gay” within Google’s translation tool. Now, I don’t know Arabic, but reportedly, the translation Google provides is equivalent to the word sodomite, which is derogatory. PinkNews says Google has “vowed to ameliorate [...]

Everyone who voted for the war was going on faulty intelligence that our Bushitler and Cheney cooked up.

The Netscape / Digg Kerfuffle

Amy Gahran has the best summary of this whole thing and why it isn’t a big deal at all.
There’s recently been a major and controversial overhaul of Netscape’s services. The most notable addition is that Netscape has created its own version of Digg.
If you haven’t used Digg, it’s worth checking out. This model has endless [...]

Today Hitwise issued a press release reporting that for the first time, www.myspace.com has surpassed Yahoo! Mail as the most visited domain on the Internet for US Internet users.
Ok. Make that [...]

Big Brother Arriving in America

We’ve covered Argentina’s attempt to force internet service providers (ISP) to retain online activity data on customers.
Shortly thereafter it was reported that the Justice Department in the U.S. started floating a similar idea to ISPs.
Well, wait no more. Alberto “I’m a Dumb Tool” Gonzales is putting the screws on American ISPs.
The Justice Department is [...]

Just Two Guys: Guy Kewney/Guy Goma

The BBC though it was interviewing Guy Kewney, of newswireless.net, for a segment on the Apple trial. But no, it was actually Guy Goma, who was at the BBC that day to apply for a job in their IT department.
The video is priceless.
