CNN: Proudly Spreading Islamist Propaganda
You just can’t make this crap up.
Here is a screen shot of the CNN web site right now at 10:40am (click to see full version).
As you can see, there is a “breaking” news story:

The “CNN Exclusive” is this:
Almost 2,800 Americans have been killed so far in Iraq and one of the most dangerous insurgent opponents is the sniper. CNN has obtained graphic video from the Islamic Army of Iraq, one of the most active insurgent organizations in Iraq, showing its sniper teams targeting U.S. troops. The Islamist Army says it wants talks with the United States and some Islamist Internet postings call for a P.R. campaign aimed at influencing the American public. The video is disturbing to watch but CNN believes the story, shocking as it is, needs to be told.
Traitors.
The terrorists want “a P.R. campaign aimed at influencing the American public” which CNN is happy to provide them.
Aside from the obvious (ongoing) attempt to push negative Iraq news to the front as the election approaches, CNN is showing its true anti-American colors. Yes. I am questioning the “patriotism” of people working at CNN. Of course, according to its founder, Ted Turner, CNN employees shouldn’t have any allegiances to begin with.
Maybe Ted Turner himself wrote that paragraph summary. Who knows. At least CNN is being honest: CNN hates America and is happy to post PR videos from Islamic terror organizations in an effort to influence American opinion.

Looking at some of the comments about this story on the 360 blog, one of the comments that caught my eye was the fact that CNN is relatively absurdly lacking stories about US Military successes in Iraq.
And yet, Terrorist video of attacks.
Just in thinking about this logically, these groups in Iraq such as “The Islamic Army” have no hope of a military victory.
However, through CNN, they are achieving the victory that they want and need.
They like headlines like that. CNN is becoming the English Al-Jazeera.

Yeah! It’s about time someone exposes the liberal propaganda machine! Let’s lynch those traitors! They’re not allowed to publish news I can’t handle! Lord knows I don’t want to hear any negative news from our flawless operation in bringing democracy to the Middle East. Only Good things can happen! We’re America, dammit!
Or maybe we can take a couple of steps back and realize that we should work on understanding the enemy. It’s people like you that allowed the war to happen, so why don’t you grow a pair and watch the result of your stupidity. Maybe you won’t be so gungho about rushing into thigs like this.
-Jay
PS- Maybe you people shouldn’t be so willing to call people traitors. How can you deem these people to be anti-American? It’s not like you have any kind of authority to say what being American is and what it is not.
The epitome of the liberal inconsistency.
Jay,
Deep breath.
Now re-read what I wrote.
I don’t condemn CNN for airing “liberal propaganda”, “news I can’t handle”, or “negative news”.
They are anti-American because they (1) report that the Islamists are trying “a P.R. campaign aimed at influencing the American public” and then (2) air the Islamist propaganda on their network.
It’s one thing to report “bad news”, but spreading the enemy’s propaganda that they deliver to you is something entirely different.
My roommate just got back from Iraq. He was in Ramadi for a year. He was at the police recruiting station last year and left one hour before it was bombed, killing 60 recruits. He friend, who came to replace him, is just now beginning to start running again after 30 ball bairings tore through his legs. He has told us some stories that seem to be completely unbelievable, then he shows us the pictures. He showed me the picture of his hum-v after it was hit by an rpg, with no radiator or right front tire. He showed me pictures of another vehicle that are blown away right in front of him by a road-side bomb. Picture after picture of some amazing things, and all the while saying how terrible the liberal media is, because they won’t see what is going on over there. He said that many of his friends felt like the media was sympathizing with the men they were fighting. Finally, he said exactly what Doug said, they were helping the terrorists more than anything by spreading their propaganda for them.
Sorry to have to point out, yet again, a lack of reading comprehension on the part of Doug:
“As you can see, there is a “breaking†news story:”
Actually, Doug, no, this was a CNN Exclusive and nowhere is it referred to as “breaking” (despite your dishonest use of quotation marks). Perhaps you were confused by the red color?
“You just can’t make this crap up.”
“At least CNN is being honest: CNN hates America…”
Doug, apparently you can make crap up. Hyperbole is too often the tool of the overly-partisan and the uneducated. At the least, I don’t think you’re the latter, so why write like this? It doesn’t further intelligent debate.
Perhaps. Red does connote a breaking story on their web site.
Here is what CNN said:
I assumed (perhaps incorrectly?) that they had just received the video. But maybe they had been sitting on it waiting for the election? You could be right…
doug, i can’t believe you called the story breaking without obtaining independent verification from at least three sources.
i will never trust another thing you say you dirty scumbag.
I don’t think CNN is spreading Islamic propaganda, but i do feel as though the liberal media is portraying the war wrong. I cannot agree more with the idea of peace and nonviolence, however once a war is waged, one cannot show lack of support of your troups. After all look at the Vietnam war veterans who came back from risking their lives to find rows of people protesting something they had no control over. Showing US defeats rather than US successes is not Islamic Propaganda, but it is merely improper coverage of a contravercial war. By having improper coverages, the website can only be less credible. CNN, and all of the media networks for that matter, should learn that true news coverage of both sides can lead to a valuable and credible news program. Not one particular biased view manipulated as true and credible news. We as viewers should learn to understand news bias, and learn to prevent manipulation of popular and corrupt American propaganda. The news should provide current events for the population to develop a perspective on, not manipulative liberal or conservative network working for personal gains. There is a reason it is called mass media, not a liberal or conservative manipulative news network.
