harry reid has got to start thinking before he speaks. the man is a walking hypocrisy machine. read part I of this ongoing series of posts pointing out harry reid’s unbelievable (and, notably, racist) hypocrisy.
dingy harry reid has called a bill that would make english the US’s official language “racist.” but this statement is incongruous with some of his previously-stated views on the subject. in the early 90s, he referred to illegal immigrants as “freeloaders” and “scam artists.” he even argued against legal immigration because of, among other things, its social impact.
but inhofe’s bill, which would save money and encourage national unity by making english the official standard? that’s racist to dingy harry reid. read the whole article by charles hurt of the washington times.
in his comments on the recent bill, reid deduced the measure is racist because “it’s directed basically to people who speak spanish.” maybe he’ll now attempt to make his anti-immigrant comments jive with his current racism standard by claiming his “freeloaders and scam artists” remark was directed at all the white, european immigrants flooding into america lately.

What’s racist is disincentivizing people from learning the language of success. If immigrants want to work their way out of minimum wage jobs, they have to learn English.
Of course, you don’t have to learn English to vote for a Democrat. Out here in California, the ballots come in many languages besides Spanish even.
And dingy Reid knows that.
