CD, DVD, Blu-ray, Pioneer’s 400gb disc
Wow.
Pioneer has developed an optical disc that can hold up to 400GB of data easily surpassing previously announced prototypes.
That’s 16x more data than a Blu-ray disc.

Michael Moore will now be able to look 16 times more disgusting in ultra-high definition.
It makes me glad I never bought a blu-ray (barely got a DVD player), since they are apparently already obsolete.
Bluray can go to 50gb as the article says with dual layer. So its really just 8x bigger. (only 8x, hehe…that is much bigger) That is like the step up from DVD to bluray.
We just bought a Bluray burner where I work and those discs are so expensive. For the size, its almost worth just buying external hard drives. Perhaps optical discs have higher reliability for long term storage though…well, and they’re small.
