falcons’ michael vick brutally killed puppies
as an animal lover, i cannot believe anyone could do this to a dog:
In or about April of 2007, Peace, Phillips and [atlanta falcons star quarterback, michael] Vick executed approximately eight dogs that did not perform well in ‘testing’ sessions at 1915 Moonlight Road by various methods, including hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog’s body to the ground.”
this is beyond cruel. if these allegations are true, i hope the people who did it rot in hell. if michael vick participated, his NFL career should be over.
update, 29 august 2007: given the way things have developed, and the fact that i have had some time to calm down, i would be amenable to michael vick returning to the NFL after he does his time. in fact, i hope his career isn’t over. i hope he gets a chance to redeem himself through the criminal justice process and then return to the football field.

And if this is true, Vick has proved to be way beyond immature, brash, or thuggish. Animal cruelty reveals a dark and disturbed person. As one of his fans, I’m really disappointed/disillusioned.

Given the laughs I have had while reading so many posts on this blog, it is truly an honor.
And, joking aside, I agree. I generally root for Vick and love watching him turn broken plays into 20 yard runs–but this is pretty bizarre and very disappointing.
