Great Moments in Presidential Speeches

From March 2006 until the end of his second term, Late Night with David Letterman ran a recurring segment featuring a montage of “hail to the chief” and several classic lines from famous presidential addresses and contrasting them with some of President Bush’s most awkward moments behind the podium.

Letterman announced an end to the series in January 2009. But given what we have seen so far from President Obama, my only question is, when will that series resume?

Last week, we highlighted reports that Obama allegedly thanked himself in a speech after his teleprompter malfunctioned: “First, I’d like to say thank you to President Obama!” said President Obama.

Now more teleprompter woes:

My guess is the series won’t resume on Letterman. I encourage Ryan to work on the Obama version of “Great Moments in Presidential Speeches.”
