How to remove the Digg bar from a web page

Here’s a snippet of Javascript for fellow web geeks who want to get rid of the new Digg bar for visitors who get sent to your site via Digg’s URL redirecting service.

<script type="text/javascript">
<!–
if (top.location!= self.location) {
top.location = self.location.href
}
//–>
</script>

Basically, Digg’s new URL service loads your web page inside a frame with a Digg URL. Since it’s 2009, not 1996, this is frowned upon by just about everyone by now, aside from Digg…heh. So, using the above code at the top your page should auto-remove the Digg bar.

Hat tip: Danny Sullivan at Search Engine Land for the code (and a great review of all the top URL redirecting services like TinyURL, bit.ly, tr.im, etc).
