John Kerry + Band-Aid = Purple Heart
From the doctor who treated John Kerry in Vietnam for the wound that won Kerry his first Purple Heart:
“I simply removed the piece of metal by lifting it out of the skin with forceps. I doubt that it penetrated more than 3 or 4 mm. It did not require probing to find it, did not require any anesthesia to remove it, and did not require any sutures to close the wound.“The wound was covered with a bandaid.”

Honestly, my father, a retired army Colonel, received worse wounds while performing dentistry. He didn’t whine and whine until he got a purple heart.
What is so damning, in my opinion, is that after three quick Purple Hearts, Kerry opted for the transfer home before his tour of duty was even complete.
Beautiful! Brought a tear to my eye… oh salty fluids! painful… quick … give me a Purple Heart!
Hi.
Can you guys help me out with this ‘Band Aid Purple Heart’ thing?
First, are Dubya Bush, Dick Cheney, John Bolton, etc eligible for this award based on their military service?
Second, are they handing them out in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Third, how come I did not get one during my service in Vietnam?
Thanks.
John
