lydia cornell, ingrate

lydia cornell is still my honorary genius, but now she is coming off as kind of an ingrate. let me explain. ever since ann coulter published lydia’s contact information on her blog, cornell’s stock has skyrocketed:

I did 8 radio shows across America last week. Taped an interview for KPSI in Palm Springs and was all over the east coast, plus the other night in Tennessee and will be on with the Young Republicans of Georgetown University next Friday, rush hour drive time from 3-4 p.m. On Tuesday, December 6, I will be on 3 different radio shows.

yet lydia continues to call coulter’s work “political pr*n” and the focus of lydia’s last few blog posts has been how mean and misguided coulter is. lydia gets us all worked up about the travesty of her address and phone number being posted on the internet, but then we realize that if it were taken down, her career would go back to what it was before ann coulter touched it with her golden wand (bra saleswoman, with a bunch of semi-nudie pics of herself from the late 1980s on her website).

can anybody think of an analogy from recent times? anyone? bueller? cindy sheehan. think about it: if she got what she wanted, she would disappear immediately. the same with lydia cornell.

but lydia has become a political pr*nographer now, and it seems like she likes it. it’s lydia versus ann, and she’ll talk about whatever the radio people want to get ratings. right, lydia?

here are some gems from lydia’s recent posts at lydiacornell.com:

(1) she calls conservative christians “pharisees” because they judge others. lydia tells them they’re wrong and that love is the only thing christ taught (and in doing so, lydia judges them–whoops!)

(2) she goes into greater detail on her “no democrat is pro-abortion” theory. it gets very interesting:

By the way, no Democrat or sane person is pro-abortion or likes abortion. It’s wrong of Coulter to call Democrats “the abortion party.” This is horrible that she does this. We just don’t believe that the government has a right to become like the fascists and control a person’s own private body and their intimate relationship with God.

by “intimate relationship with god” do you mean “intimate relationship with abortion?”

There’s a reason the womb is encased in the separate private body of an individual woman: it is between her and God, and her soul suffers the decision, as we are really spiritual beings, all connected to each other, all children of a loving God — and all the wars are within ourselves. This is probably too metaphysical to understand but the key is inside us.

i think the key is in the bottle of jack daniels you downed before thinking this theory up.

we have been slacking on getting the daily mitch back up and running. what does everyone think of maybe putting a “daily lydia” on the blog, with her latest, greatest thoughts and quotations?

Well, the daily lydia would definitely bring laughs, but it just isn’t the same, travis.
As to the jack daniels theory, i think you might be onto something there.

Lydia Cornell is one of the smartest, funniest and most enlightened women I have ever heard speak. You guys don’t do your research; she doesn’t drink alcohol or touch drugs, does public speaking against drug and alcohol abuse — and is a mother of two young boys. I heard her on the radio the other night and she is amazing! Nothing you say here makes any sense at all. This sounds like a smear site. I bet your friend Mitch would be ashamed of your lies.

the jack daniels comment was (as most people probably figured out) a joke. sometimes in american culture, people joke about others “drinking too much” or “being drunk” when they do or say stupid things. that is what i was doing.

i never seriously asserted that she has a drinking or illicit drug problem. however, i do think she is very stupid and a hypocrite.

i’m sorry, we write to a college-educated audience.

you didn’t do your research! mitch loved alcohol and drugs!

Well Travis, if that were true, I imagine she would be lucky to be stupid and a hypocrite, as opposed to being smart like you, and being a hypocrite. (you are smart, right?)

Least then she can still learn.

Is anyone in charege in this Waffle House?
    King Richard

Dick Cheney was appointed by Bush I to select a VP.

He selected himself and hired his left over Nixon Pals in PNAC.

Bush is a Recovering Alcoholic per his own admission. See Judy Keen—Usa Today-12-29-05

Rove-Cheney-Rumsfeld let him PLAY the part of President.

They keep him out of the White House. Vacations and Speaking to only friendly crowds.

They know his alcoholic temper will explode with many questions not in his favor.

How many days over five years has he been out of the White House?

How many days have Cheney been in the White House while he was out of it.

    Bush cannot concentrate.

He cannot sit and read for any extended period.

He cannot watch TV for any prolonged period.

It is early to bed or he is exhausted by 11 p.m.

He cannot ride a hoss. Well, at K-Mart perhaps.

He used wireless transmitter for a debate. Undeniable. Nasa enlargement shows truth.

Interpreter for him during Indonesia visit made this remark:

“He did not know much of Indonesia until he met with the Prime Minister then he seemed to be an expert.
I sat close to him and now I know why I kept hearing voices.”

Bush is told where to go and what to say. His lack of knowledge and dumbness come out when he is not reading script or talking points.

He is KEPT out of the White House.

Remember his mom saying “Cheney and Rumsfeld are creating the problems for him”
    Po lil baby.

If one doubts it all you need to do is read my list of 62 very very dumb remarks. A person with intelligence could not make such remarks.

  7. Get over your overinflated analasys of other people’s errors. I’ve been there recently and if you stay too long hell turns against you, so if that’s what you want, good luck with it. Sometimes I want that myself, personally, I suppose..

Never mind that you’re wrong about Bush’s attention span. He has a morning ritual of reading the paper every day - so at least one of your points is erroneous.

He who is looking for faults in his brethren will surely find them. - Abraham Lincoln
