President Bush and Concerned Citizen
So if you haven’t heard, this gentleman who was asking a question at one of Bush’s events gave a laundry list of alleged wrongs of the Bush. And finished by saying that Bush should be ashamed of himself.
You never stop talking about freedom, and I appreciate that. But while I listen to you talk about freedom, I see you assert your right to tap my telephone, to arrest me and hold me without charges, to try to preclude me from breathing clean air and drinking clean water and eating safe food. If I were a woman, you’d like to restrict my opportunity to make a choice and decision about whether I can abort a pregnancy on my own behalf.
Watch the video here. I think it is hilarious right at the beginning when the guy says “to arrest me and hold me without charges”. Bush’s body language is priceless. He’s thinking, “What the %$*@. Is that you Howard? John? Hillary? Who is this?”
In any case, Bush shows himself to be pretty classy by shutting the crowd up when they start to boo the guy. CNN cuts the whole exchange up. Read the transcript with the video.
Hat tip to Expose the Left.

Why do people equate NSA wiretapping terrorist suspects to threatening democracy?
“Why do people equate NSA wiretapping terrorist suspects to threatening democracy?”
Wiretapping terrorist suspects doesn’t threathen democracy. However, trusting the administration to limit it to terrorist suspects does threaten democracy. The FISA court was set up to monitor wiretaping to make sure abuse doesn’t happen. The administration has done their wiretapping without FISA court approval, even though they can approval even after they’ve actually done the wiretapping. Still they refuse because they don’t want oversight. This threatens democracy, because they could be spying on citizens that aren’t supected of anything. I don’t want any president to have that power. It threatens democracy.
