ReviewMe: A Review
The following is a paid review:
Alright, now that you all know that we are going to be making some kudo bucks for this post, you may be tempted to stop reading. But don’t. This is actually a really interesting service/business.
If you’ve been following the blogosphere then you’ve heard of PayPerPost (sorry, no link love!). It is a service where businesses can pay bloggers for reviews of their products. The problem is that they do not require disclosure and can sometimes require that the blogger write a positive review. In other words, radio payola for blogs.
ReviewMe is different. And so I wanted to try it out. They let you write whatever you want and you must disclose that you are getting paid for the review. So, I start the post out with a “the following is a paid review†disclaimer, write what I want about the product, and then get paid. At least that’s the idea. I’m trying it out.
I’ll do a follow-up post about how this first post turned out.
So far the experience has been quite good. It was easy enough to signup and register all-encompassingly. They offer to pay via PayPal or check. I’m not sure how quick payment will be…we’ll see.
In any case, I doubt that we will do many “ReviewMe posts†here at all-encompassingly, but it does look like a neat service. It takes the good stuff of PayPerPost and makes it better (by requiring disclosure but not a positive review). I saw the first review like this from Diego Gonzalez, over at Serial Blogger (Gracias por la magia ReviewMe…je).
Good stuff.

Looks very interesting. My wife and I have been considering Pay Per Post. I’ll tell her about ReviewMe as well.
