Obama’s Bizarro World

Compare his thoughts on President Bush’s call to reform Social Security back then to his own stance on reforming health care right now.

Obama’s Coalition-Description Double Standard

Tuesday, President Obama said the following regarding the planned addition of 30,000 US troops in Afghanistan:

[W]e are joined by a broad coalition of 43 nations that recognizes the legitimacy of our action.

When I heard that, it struck me as…odd.
After all, we had more than 43 nations* supporting our action in Iraq in 2003, [...]

DNC Goes 0 for 2 on Obama Nobel Peace Prize Reaction

the DNC says anyone who’s laughing at Obama “sides with the Taliban.”
They seem to have forgotten that the White House just declared the Taliban a non-enemy and furthermore said the Taliban should share in governing.
….they also said we’re siding with Hamas, which….endorsed Obama for President.

Will CNN Fact-Check Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize?

Why not? They fact-checked a Saturday Night Live Skit. But I’m not holding my breath.

On my way to work this morning, I heard a few seconds of a guy with a foreign accent awarding what sounded like a Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama. My reaction was: I was almost certain I was listening to [...]

DirecTV Refuses to Carry Versus, Says its Protecting Subscribers!

I am an NHL fan, and when my wife and I caved in last April — after 9 months without cable — we got the channel package that included Versus. Versus is virtually the only network that carries NHL regular season and playoff games in the United States. NBC shows like a half dozen or [...]

Sign of the Apocalypse #1,123

ACORN (“Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now”) issued the following statement about a lender’s misconduct after foreclosing on a $12 million Malibu beach property:
“This is the ultimate example of dancing on the shattered dreams of the millions of Americans who’ve lost their homes. They should be ashamed of themselves,” said Association of Community Organizations [...]

NYT on Bush Economy: Nothing but “McJobs”; NYT on Obama Economy: Boundless Opportunities for “Profound Reassesment”

During the Bush administration, the Times and other media outlets routinely disparaged job creation as somehow beneath the dignity of the workers, even as wages rose and unemployment fell. The work was demeaning and mundane, and the pay inadequate. Every chance they had to use anecdotal complaints about supposed burger-flipping or paper-shifting wound [...]

Krauthammer on Obama’s Invincibility

Obama [compounded his problems] by vastly misreading his mandate. He assumed it was personal. This, after winning by a mere seven points in a year of true economic catastrophe, of an extraordinarily unpopular Republican incumbent, and of a politically weak and unsteady opponent. Nonetheless, Obama imagined that….he had won the kind of banana-republic plebiscite [...]

#20 Brigham Young Beats #3 Ranked Oklahoma

Both teams were missing star players. BYU’s star running back, Harvey Unga, did not play at all because of a hamstring injury. OU’s Sam Bradford did not play in the second half due to a shoulder injury.
To me, the real story of this game was BYU’s defense stopping OU a half-dozen times from inside [...]
