Its classic slime-ball campaign spin. Just hammer a message over and over, whether or not it makes sense in a long winded explanation, and hope it sticks.

By giving 2-3 days of press conferences calling Mitt Romney’s ads dishonest, Huckabee is hoping the word dishonest clogs the news cycle.

At least, that is my impression.

I was afraid that Tim Russert wouldn’t challenge Huckabee because of Russert’s own dislike of Romney. And that is exactly what happened on MTP on Sunday morning..

Russert pressed Huckabee hard twice in 30 minutes, a pittance compared to his grilling of Giuliani and Romney. He had the biggest piÃ±ata in the GOP race to smack and around, and he passed.

Mike Huckabee – did the Arkansas budget go from 6 billion dollars to 16 billion dollars during your time as governor? If not, what is that actual dollar amount your budget increased during your time as governor?

Mike Huckabee – did you lessen the mandatory sentences for meth dealers, or increase the sentences for meth dealers? Give me some specifics.
